Laugharne is beautiful, a very pretty place and nestled above this little town is The Corran, a luxury boutique hotel nestled in the marshlands of the Carmarthenshire countryside.
The Corran is decorated and furnished in a distinctively different way that shouldn’t work, but does. Nothing matches, everything is gorgeous, and at each turn there is something wonderful, it’s an Instagramers’ heaven!
We’ve spent our afternoon here today and enjoyed their Sunday lunch, each course of which was delicious! I started with sweet potato soup, my husband, Tiggy’s daddy, had confit of duck, both scrumptious with Tiggy eating more of my soup than me!
The staff kindly brought some breads to begin with and this was quickly polished off by Tiggy and her brothers so I couldn’t tell you anything about it save for that it must have been yummy as they’d eaten it all before I’d even realised it was on the table! There was a very impressive cheese table though!
Main courses arrived and I chose the hake while Tiggy’s daddy plumped for the traditional roast beef dinner. Tiggy’s brothers chose from the children’s menu and had chicken goujons or sausages with mashed potato, two had peas and one chose beans. Tiggy had sausages with mashed potato and peas which we’ve recently discovered she absolutely loves.
Dessert was ice cream all round for the children, I chose “Deconstructed Cherry Bakewell Tart” and my husband the “Terrine of Summer Fruits”.
Tiggy ate some of all of the above and it seemed to be the only time she was happy to be seated as the entire meal Tiggy had not wanted to be sat for long, she’s on the move and even took her first steps here today! Only four, but she walked. A very proud mommy moment!
As Tiggy hadn’t wanted to be restrained sat in the highchair her daddy and I took turns to take her for a walk. It’s most unlike Tiggy to be a grump but whilst feeding her I noticed two more little teeth coming through and I think this coupled with her wanting to explore and walk may have been the reason for a few grumps and taking her for a walk was a great excuse to take a look around The Corran.
So taken were we with The Corran that I’ve even attempted my first little piece of film making. Click on the link below to take a peek…
