I say it every month but what a fab month and how did we get to and through April so fast?
We’ve enjoyed a month of lots of lovely family time as Tiggy’s brothers had a fortnight from school for Easter and we’ve had the opportunity to explore a little of our surroundings of our new home and enjoyed time with friends and family. My husband and I even squeezed in a little trip to Prague to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I’ll write a little separate blog post on that at some point I’m sure but it was lovely to have some time together and all the better to come home to very excited children.
This was Tiggy’s second Easter and whilst she was very excited about it feeding off her brother’s excitement, I’m sure she had no idea what on earth she was excited about, too young to grasp quite what was going on, but she seemed to very much enjoy egg and spoon races in our garden and an Easter egg hunt too not to mention the Easter hunts we did at a couple of National Trust properties…
So to Tiggy and wow, her speech is coming along leaps and bounds, quickly picking up new words daily and her little character emerging is just awesome, she’s clearly picked up traits from her brothers, some good, some not so good, including when she gets cross she folds her arms and stomps her feet and has the most beautiful angry face I ever did see! The other thing that Tiggy now does that her brothers never did is to throw herself on the floor and wail until she gets her own way! This works a treat with her brothers who pander to her every whim and spoil her but as for me, I just step over her, pay no attention and she soon stops, the little monkey although it is very sweet.
Tiggy also loves to mimic me and there are times her brothers will fight over a toy or something and I’ll walk into the room and shout “stop it!” and right behind me is my little shadow Tiggy who also shouts “stop it” in her cute little voice which usually gets them to stop as they stop to giggle at her.
Tiggy wants to be right there with her brothers, whatever they do she wants to do too, often giving me a heart failure in the process, like climbing up our slides at home or anywhere else we come across one and even completing the “jungle walk” on a recent day out.
Talking of days out, we’ve had a few over the Easter holidays and one such trip saw Tiggy in her element at one of our very favourite places to visit “Anna’s Welsh Zoo” feeding animals and having a great time. She’s fearless! But then I guess when she sees her older brothers doing it she figures she can too.
We had our usual trips to places like the Botanic Gardens and you can see more of that HERE.
Tiggy at home exploring our Bluebell Woods…
We’ve also collaborated with some wonderful companies this month, DORIMU and you can read about that HERE and Disney who together with John Lewis and Blue Print Collections to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh, produced a gorgeous stationery set and you can see more about this HERE.
Tiggy enjoyed seeing Easter lambs at a friend’s farm…
We’ve a few more exciting collaborations arranged this month too so watch this space as they say!
If you’ve followed the blog or Instagram you’ll know we moved home just before Christmas and we’ve made lots of progress renovating here with a few more rooms done, some more flooring down, the tennis court all up and running and the pool area taking shape although it’s very much felt like 2 steps forward and 5 back!
Particularly with the pool area as we pulled the covers off to clean it all out for hopefully some warmer months ahead we realised the vegetation from around the pool had blocked the filter and on emptying that we discovered it was broken and so too was the pump and the heater! We’ve cleared out the vegetation so it won’t happen again, replaced the pump and filter and have a new heater arriving in the next week, we’ve even invested in a little robot called “Bob” who you throw into the pool and he suckers up all the dirt, the children love watching him! Then of course we have to clean and paint the walls and replace the lights as they don’t work either and don’t even start me on the pool house which is so damp that the things we stored in there when we moved in have all been taken to the tip as they were quickly covered in green fur! Cleaning the pool has proved not to be as easy or as simple as we thought it might be. Still, the boys here have insisted on going in it so we bought them wetsuits because until the heater is replaced it’s freezing in there!
It really has been a lovely month and the biggest news we’ve shared with you over on social media this month is that I’m pregnant so Tiggy is going to be a big sister in the Autumn! Exciting times ahead! xoxo
