I’m still pinching myself. If someone had told me a little while ago that we as a family would be invited to London for the Charity Gala screening of Disney’s new Cars 3 movie by none other than Disney themselves I’d have laughed and said “don’t be so silly”. But we were, and we went to London and had an absolute blast!
With Tiggy having 3 older brothers we’re big fans of Disney’s Cars movies here and have spent ages collecting the little die-cast figure cars for the boys, I think we have pretty much them all or certainly very close to, so when I told them we were going to see the film they were literally jumping for joy!
Being a family who enjoy adventure we thought we’d make a trip of our time away in London and went for the weekend, precious family time that we are most definitely all about. We spent Sunday in Windsor where we stopped for lunch, took a little boat trip and ate ice cream.
Back to the reason we were here… prior to the film there was “fun in the foyer” where the boys had their arms painted with the Cars 3 characters, a lady kindly made some balloon characters for the children, there was a selection of breakfast goodies and juices and we had our picture taken and whilst I am always self critical it is one of the very few pictures of us all together where we’re all looking at the camera and smiling, it’s already in a frame here!
So to the film, the cinema was hushed a little as none other than the film’s producer Kevin Reher and director Brian Fee spoke a few words before the film started, you can watch the little clip of that HERE.
The lights went down and there was a short film called “Lou” and I’ll blame it on being pregnant and hormones but I was “choked a little” at the film’s message and even more so when at the end there was a dedication “to my father”. Such a lovely little film.
So to the main event, I certainly can’t give the story away, all I’m going to say is that it’s a real feel good film, a heart warming film, with something for all the family. The music had Tiggy dancing in the aisles and the boys verdict when the film finished… AWESOME!
Disney have permitted me to include this synopsis of the film to give you a little taster of what to expect…
“Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves by newcomer and hi-tech racer Jackson Storm (voice of Armie Hammer). To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!”
The new Cars 3 movie is in cinemas on July 14th and I’d highly recommend rounding up your tribe and taking them to see it xoxo
