Having been pregnant quite a few times before (Tiggy has 3 older brothers), it dawned on me that I’ve hardly any photographs of me pregnant and knowing this is our last baby, my last pregnancy, I want to capture my rapidly growing bump.
I’ve taken pictures firstly each morning in my underwear, then each Monday morning as time has gone on but not being “Instagram pretty” or indeed any form of internet or social media pretty I wondered how best to capture said growing bump and that’s when inspiration from Instagram struck me in the form of capturing my bump each week with flowers (and not in my underwear! although I am still doing that too) which make the pictures far more pretty and inadvertently I stumbled across a new hashtag, #mybumpandblooms.
The first picture was taken at around the 19 weeks mark and on I’ve gone and I’ve had such a wonderful response to the photographs. So much so that the dresses worn in them are from my favourite maternity clothing brand Isabella Oliver and the flowers in the main are from another favourite of mine Bloom & Wild. Click on the hyperlinks within this paragraph and they’ll take you to their sites where you can see why they’re faves of mine.
I guess this blog post will become a “rolling one” with new pictures added each week or of course you can follow along on Instagram. I hope you like them as much as I do and join in if you’re expecting xoxo.

This week marks the 28th week of pregnancy and I am feeling like my bump is HUGE and more like I should be 38 weeks! That said I’ll take a big bump any day so long as this little one is happy and healthy in there. Thankfully the increase in size is confined to my bump and I guess it’s all proportionate and relative as I have never been particularly large but I’ve always had comedy large baby bumps. I’m often told I don’t look pregnant from the back then of course I turn and get that reaction of “WOW you really are pregnant!” The dress in this week’s picture is once again from my favourite maternity brand Isabella Oliver who incidentally have a sale on right now, and the blooms are from Bloom & Wild which arrived as part of the subscription my husband took out with them for me so that once a month gorgeous blooms arrive on or around our anniversary date. Have I mentioned Bloom & Wild offer a subscription service? You can check out the details here Bloom & Wild Flower Delivery.

I can’t believe there are just 11 weeks left until we meet “our little pip” unless of course she comes early. I’m not holding out much hope that she’ll arrive early as out of all my children Tiggy arrived the earliest at just 2 days before her due date. That said, William arrived 2 days earlier than his due date also but I had been 17 days, yes 17 days! in slow labour with him prior but as he wasn’t due until September 19th the medical staff weren’t keen to intervene until his due date and it was while at the hospital making an appointment for an induction on the 17th and a very successful “sweep” (possibly too much info, sorry) that labour started properly and he was born that night after much drama and one very exhausted me. Finlay was 4 days late and Reuben 11 days late!
I’m consultant lead with this pregnancy and I’ve an appointment when I reach 36 weeks to discuss options as I’m told given the number of children I’ve had I’m at a high risk of haemorrhaging which is a terrifying prospect and whilst I’m looking forward to this little one’s arrival I’m also trying not to think about it for the moment. I’ll keep you posted as to what they say when I reach the 36 weeks mark.
30 weeks pregnant
I can’t believe I’m down to the last 10 weeks of pregnancy, it really is flying by! It’s so busy here with Tiggy and her brothers especially as they’re home for the summer holidays that I seem to be losing days and weeks at an alarming rate. It’s very exciting though and I’m looking very much forward to meeting “our little pip”, so called as that’s how big she was at an early scan I had. I’m also feeling very unprepared this time around, most likely due to the time going so quickly but the countdown is now on and I’m feeling great albeit tired at times and sleep, what’s that?! Night time leg cramps are in full swing and trying to get comfortable with a rapidly growing bump is a fine art of wedging and balancing myself with pillows only to get comfy and two minutes later the leg cramps start again. No-one ever tells you about the “un-glamorous” side of pregnancy and I’m sure mother nature has a way of making you forget. Still, it’s not forever and soon sleepless nights will be with a newborn baby and I’ll probably need reminding that I said this, but I can’t wait!
31 weeks pregnant
Where the time is going I really don’t know, but this week sees me at 31 weeks pregnant, already! I feel totally unprepared this time around, partly as the time has gone by so fast, it’s a super busy household here with Tiggy and her 3 older brothers, all of whom are home for the summer holidays and typically I gave all but the bits I wanted to keep of Tiggy’s for sentimental value away thinking we wouldn’t have any more children. It was only this week when I saw an advert for a car seat it dawned on me that we don’t have one of those any more, not suitable for a newborn anyway. So this week has seen the beginning of “nesting” here and yesterday I ordered the ‘Newborn Starter Set’ from favourites Baby MORI which I can’t wait to see when the items arrive later today. (See Tiggy with Baby MORI here). The blog post of Baby MORI’s Starter Set is now live, click on the link within this sentence to see my review.
The dress in this weeks’ pictures is from another firm favourite of mine, Isabella Oliver and it’s called the Marit Maternity Dress which is made from super soft fabric that drapes perfectly over my bump and I absolutely love it! So much so that I may well treat myself to it in white ready for our holiday next week plus at the moment it’s in their sale, “win win” as they say.
The blooms are from my absolute faves for blooms, Bloom & Wild and as always look absolutely beautiful in our home.
32 weeks pregnant
Just 8 weeks to go until “our little pip” arrives depending on when she decides to make an appearance and this week it’s feeling very real that I’m pregnant as items we’ve bought for her begin to arrive, I’ve enjoyed the most amazing maternity experience at JoJo Maman Bebe which you can read by clicking on this link: MATERNITY SHOPPING EVENT and gorgeous blooms from my faves Bloom and Wild arrived called ‘The Baby Bouquet’ which you can see full details of by clicking on the link here: THE BABY BOUQUET BY BLOOM AND WILD. We’re also taking my bump on her first holiday this week as we head for some sunshine in Cyprus and I am so looking forward to some family time relaxing in the sun! The beautiful dress I’m wearing in this picture comes from Seraphine Maternity and was most kindly gifted to me by them and is most definitely coming to Cyprus with me as whilst there it’s my birthday and this dress is perfect for special occasions and even whilst pregnant has made me feel rather elegant.
33 weeks pregnant
Cyprus was just what we needed, a wonderful break away and the sunshine did us all the world of good. It was incredibly hot there, 38-42 degrees each day but bump and I survived by ducking in and out of the shade, the air conditioning, drinking plenty and having plenty of rest beside the pool with my feet up. Perfect! I’ll write a separate blog post soon but if you are thinking of shooting off to the sunshine whilst pregnant and of course you have permission from your midwife/consultant to go then I’d highly recommend it.
In this week’s picture I’m wearing an oh-so-pretty Maternity & Beyond shirt from Isabella Oliver and beautiful ‘The Baby Bouquet’ blooms come from Bloom & Wild and little Tiggy and I have even made it onto the Bloom & Wild blog about becoming a new mum and having a new little one! You can read their blog by clicking on this link: A NEW LITTLE ONE. You can also read my full review of them here: The Baby Bouquet from Bloom & Wild.
34 weeks pregnant
What a week this has been so far, we’ve had a 4D HD scan of “our little pip” which was simply incredible! The picture quality and clarity was just amazing and it was like looking at her! I’ve popped some pictures into a blog post WINDOW TO THE WOMB so that you can see. Today I saw my midwife and had a listen in to the baby’s heart and am feeling very reassured this week that all is ok and we’ll soon meet our beautiful little girl. This weeks pretty white dress comes from Isabella Oliver and beautiful blooms from Bloom & Wild.
35 weeks pregnant
This week has been a tough one, I’ve been struck by a heavy cold which completely wiped me out and on top of that Tiggy’s brother William had a severe bout of croup and spent nights awake and a mad dash to A&E bless him. Sleep is a precious commodity in this house right now as it appears that leg cramps and heartburn favour the night time too as does “our little pip” for wriggling about. All that aside though, we are now one week closer to meeting our new little one.
The dress in this week’s pictures is by Isabella Oliver and one of my faves, I’ve worn this one so much throughout this pregnancy as it’s completely versatile, can be dressed up or down and incredibly comfy which is perfect for this last heavy stage of pregnancy. Blooms are from my favourites Bloom & Wild, and you can shop both through the links in this blog post.
36 weeks pregnant
Time sure is flying by! I’m not sure how we’ve arrived at week 36 already but here we are and aside from feeling slightly “whale-esque” and the intermittent pain I’m getting from pelvic girdle pain, which thankfully is nowhere near as severe as it was when I was pregnant with Tiggy, I’m feeling very good which is not something I think I’ve ever said at this late stage before. I’m thinking it may be more to with the fact that given it’s a busy household here I don’t generally have time to stop still long enough to even remember I’m pregnant! I have an appointment with my consultant next Monday which I’m both looking forward to and dreading, I’ve mentioned it before I’m sure, but given the number of pregnancies I’ve had I’m at a high risk of haemorrhage during the birth which is something that terrifies me. The consultant has previously said that I’ll have a “managed birth” so presumably I’ll be given a date on Monday to go in to have our little one which is incredibly exciting but also a little scary but whatever happens given this is week 36 she’s going to be here in no time!
Once again the dress in this weeks pictures comes from a firm favourite of mine, Isabella Oliver who’s clothing has made this pregnancy all the more wonderful and enjoyable as I’ve felt so lovely wearing their pieces and the blooms are ‘The Genevieve’ bouquet from another favourite of mine, Bloom & Wild and I’ll pop a separate blog post about this bouquet onto the blog shortly with full details.
37 weeks pregnant
This week has seen my friends throw me a lovely baby shower and resulted in lots of emotion and tears on my part as to how touched I was, and how truly lovely they are. Unfortunately for my nearest and dearest that seems to have been a continuing theme this week, lots of tearful moments and I’m sure loving these pregnancy hormones haha! That said, we have a “babymoon” booked for this coming weekend in The Cotswolds and I’m very much looking forward to it as it’s such a pretty place and a much needed pamper is just what I need right now, my husband too after putting up with me this week!
I’ve also had my appointment with the consultant this week and I do have a date to be induced although I am trying to keep a lid on my excitement in case it doesn’t go ahead on the day. I’m told it’s subject to a few factors but I’ll spare you the details.
38 weeks pregnant
What a week it’s been. It started with a much needed and rather beautiful “babymoon” which I’ll tell you all about in a blog post shortly at a place in The Cotswolds called Barnsley House, such the most perfect place for a break away, truly beautiful.
Whilst there we had news that my grandmother had passed away, she was 96 years old, soon to be 97 and lead a full and colourful life and I used to love listening to her stories not to mention looking through her wonderful photographs over the years in the ever changing fashions. She really was a remarkable woman who’s mind was still “razor sharp” despite her 96 years but her physical health has been deteriorating for quite some time. I’ve had Tiggy’s brother Reuben home from school unwell and awake throughout the nights and I slipped on wet kitchen flooring having not long mopped it only to go get an unwell Reuben a drink, forgetting it was wet and my legs went from under me. Aside from winding myself and some bruising all is thankfully ok and baby is unharmed and of course little Tiggy is as always 100mph, she’s quite the little whirlwind! They say these things are sent to try us but boy what a week!
However, I have hit the 38 weeks mark and was due to be induced this week but given the week we have ahead with a funeral we have decided to delay it so unless “our little pip” decides to make an appearance of her own accord, we won’t be seeing her arrival this week. In one way I feel disappointed but in another I feel that I now have more time to enjoy her so close to me, seeing the protruding shapes move across my tummy, something I won’t ever experience again so some more time may be a blessing in disguise.
The oh so beautiful blooms in this picture are called “The Marguerite” from the Matisse Collection at my faves at Bloom and Wild and you can shop them here: Bloom & Wild Flower Delivery and the dress is my favourite maternity dress from Isabella Oliver and you can shop for it here: Isabella Oliver.
