Having recently been to the Charity Gala Screening of Cars 3 with Disney and enjoying a most wonderful time you can imagine my delight and excitement when The Disney Channel UK invited us to the BAFTA Kids TV Preview of Disney’s Tangled: Before Ever After.
This time around it was just Tiggy and I that travelled to London for the preview screening and wanting to make a weekend of it we travelled up the day before. My having been called to the Bar (yes I’m a Barrister) at Lincoln’s Inn in London I thought we’d begin our weekend by parking our car there and heading into the centre to have a little wander, take in some sights and do some shopping. We are girls after all!
We walked across to Covent Garden where ‘Covent Garden In Bloom’ is currently happening and it’s oh so pretty! Being here by ourselves and without the ever photographic skills of my husband in tow we were reliant upon total strangers passing by to lend a hand, and as you can see I found whatever the lady kindly taking the photograph was saying to make Tiggy smile funny whereas clearly Tiggy didn’t find her amusing in the slightest!
We enjoyed the evening here so much so that we returned in the morning primarily to park my car at Lincoln’s Inn and to walk across to the preview screening in Piccadilly meaning we passed Covent Garden on the way and of course best laid plans and all that, we slept later than planned, Tiggy was awake until the 1am mark full of beans!
I’m unsure as to why other than putting it down to her having slept for most of the journey to London the previous day. So instead of the slow start to the day and leisurely breakfast planned we grabbed some breakfast muffins, coffee and juice as we went and for a first we turned up 30 minutes early!
We arrived at BAFTA and met with some lovely people from both Disney and BAFTA and it was wonderful to finally put faces to the names that we’d been emailing.
So to the preview; as we took our seats I was struck firstly by this…
As you can imagine with a recently turned two year old, getting Tiggy to sit still is virtually impossible, however aside from wanting to explore the staircase that was covered in lights and her wanting to dance to the music which was understandable as it’s written by Academy Award-Winning Alan Menken, Tiggy did in fact sit for quite some time on my lap to watch.
Disney’s Tangled: Before Ever After is set between the original Tangled movie and the TV series Tangled Ever After and it’s truly delightful. Lots of moments of humour and laughter coupled with Rapunzel being a role model in that she is of strong character and knows her own mind.
After the preview we had a little “sing-a-long” and then were able to meet with Georgia Lock from the Disney Channel who hosted the event and who is absolutely beautiful.
We had a final conversation with the lovely people who invited us here and then made our way back across the centre of London to our car where our next stop was Mayfield Lavender Fields to meet with friends (You can see our trip to the Lavender Fields by clicking on the link within this sentence).
Tangled: Before Ever After airs on Tuesday 25th July at 5:35pm on the Disney Channel. Don’t miss the launch of Tangled: The Series this Autumn xoxo
*This post is written in collaboration with The Disney Channel UK and a HUGE thank you to them for inviting us to this Preview, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and for Tiggy’s gorgeous Tangled Rapunzel dress xxx
