Yes I know, it’s half way through August and only now am I writing and posting about July! In my defence I have Tiggy’s brothers home for the school summer holidays and it has been crazy busy here!
Still, thinking back to July and what a great month of fun! We started with an air show which we all enjoyed.
We took several trips to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, which you can read about by clicking JULY IN THE GARDEN.
We went strawberry picking where Tiggy ate more strawberries than she put in the punnet and this was her very first time to pick strawberries too.
We took a trip to London with Disney which you can read by clicking Cars 3 Charity Gala Screening and we made a weekend of it and visited Windsor and enjoyed some lovely family time.
Tiggy and I took a second trip to London which you can read about by clicking Disney’s Tangled: Before Ever After and it was lovely to watch her run about Lincoln’s Inn where I was called to the Bar 16 years ago!
We met with new friends made through Instagram and visited Lavender Fields which you can see more of by clicking on the link within this sentence.
We’ve played in our garden…
…and visited a favourite National Trust property of mine, Colby Woodland Garden.
Tiggy’s also played with some sunflowers and it’s by taking these photos and comparing them with similar from this time last year you can appreciate how much Tiggy has grown over the past year!
Talking of which, Tiggy and the reason for this Blog and these particular Blog Posts, what development this month particularly her speech which is now a case of many new words being said each day and picking them up straight away from others talking to her and her repeating them back. Her funniest ones are when you ask her as to where something has gone “I don’t know” will inevitably be her reply with her arms in the air as if to say ‘I’ve no idea’, super sweet. When her brothers call her she shouts “what?!” automatically and makes us giggle. Aside from one off words or phrases Tiggy can communicate so well now and 9 times from 10 I’ll know what it is she’s saying although there are moments with her flailing arms and exasperation that you don’t know what she’s saying that I feel like I’m losing at a game of charades!
Tiggy enjoys telling you where all the features of your face are and when she points to mouth and says the word it’s hard to resist pretending to snap at her finger which she squeals with delight at, a lot of hilarity it seems when labelling ones face. Tiggy knows her own mind for sure and is far more strong willed than I remember her brothers being at this stage so I have quickly learned to “pick my battles” such as when it comes to Tiggy insisting on wearing wellies with everything and if she doesn’t want to sit and eat a meal but is happy to eat and run whilst carrying on playing. These times are short lived so on the scale of things these “battles” aren’t really that important and seeing her wear wellies with everything is super sweet!
So to August and if you follow on Instagram you’ll know it’s been another lovely month so far with lots more planned and which hopefully I’ll share with you before the middle of September! xoxo
