I have been pregnant a few times now and not once have I had a Maternity Photoshoot or session and this being my very last pregnancy, and therefore opportunity, I was more than delighted when Danni of Danielle Reeder Photography contacted me to ask if it might be something I’d be interested in.
We discussed what each of us hoped to achieve from a maternity photo session and with clear ideas in mind we set about working out a date to have one.
It transpired that our babymoon at Barnsley House in The Cotswolds was more easy to get to for Danni and from seeing pictures of the beautiful grounds and gardens there I knew it would be the perfect place to take some lovely pictures.
We met Danni over a spot of lunch and instantly felt like I’d known her forever. We enjoyed a lovely chat full of laughter whilst we ate and I felt most at ease in her company which always helps for taking pictures, especially ones so personal and whilst so vulnerable. As any woman knows, your shape changes dramatically over the course of a pregnancy and I’m not one to be in front of a camera, much preferring to be behind it in any event! But I needn’t have worried as Danni was simply brilliant!
We “posed” for photos but do you know my favourites of my husband and I plus our bump are the ones where Danni snapped away between poses capturing raw and emotional pictures, ones that truly reflect us and our love for one another.
We’ve never done anything like this before and most of our pictures of us together are either taken by one of our children or through the use of a selfie-stick so these are something to be treasured as they really do capture where we’re at right now and I hope that in years to come, Tiggy, her brothers too can look at these pictures and see the pure adoration and love we have for one another even after all these years together xoxo.
