This post is written in collaboration with SmarTrike.
Tiggy’s brothers have all had scooters, all SmarTrike as it happens and despite us buying them for them around the age Tiggy is now it hadn’t occurred to me to purchase one for Tiggy. The boys here are a little older now and all very much into sport, rugby, football, golf and the like, and so it hadn’t crossed my mind to consider a scooter for Tiggy.
When we were contacted with regards writing this review it made me wonder what Tiggy would make of a scooter and when it arrived I don’t think Tiggy could have wanted the box opened any quicker exclaiming “WOW!!” so quickly I didn’t have time to capture her reaction to it on camera which is a shame as she was genuinely super excited to get her hands on it!
I’d spent an hour or two this morning wondering what to do with our day as it was clearly going to be a gorgeous blue sky winter’s day and once the scooter arrived it was also clear that this is what we’d be doing as Tiggy was keen to try it out, so much so that before I knew it she was “scooting” up and down our hallway shouting “beep, beep Mummy” and “look at me!”
Our home has a gravel driveway so not much use for “scooting” so we headed out in the car in search of some flat ground and Tiggy had the biggest “meltdown” not understanding at her just 2 1/2 years of age that we were going to try out her scooter but had to go in the car first, that’s how keen she was to get going on it.
We headed to a local country park with spectacular views, a brand new play area for children and most importantly flat surfaces for Tiggy to “scoot” and that was it, she was off!
We had a little play in the park here before heading back scooting all the way!
Her genuine excitement, quick grasp of how to use it and her willingness to try something new all lead me to believe she absolutely loved the SmarTrike T3 Scooter and so I asked her if she did in fact like it and her reply? “It’s amazing!” I didn’t even know she knew that word!
So to the scooter itself, its lightweight, easily put together, it literally is just a case of clicking the handle into the base, which is ideal when your little one can’t wait to get their hands on it! It has a T-lock function to allow the handlebars to lock or tilt depending on the stage your child is at, it’s sturdy and durable to withstand all that your little one will throw at it, bumpy ground, no problem thanks to it’s polyurethane versatile plastic wheels which made Tiggy’s ride both smooth and sturdy.
My overall impression, a well made product ideal to introduce your little one to scooters and Tiggy’s verdict? I think her saying “it’s amazing” pretty much sums it up, she had a great time today trying it out and she went to bed this evening wanting to “go scooting tomorrow” xoxo.
