This post is written in collaboration with Medela.
I have been so fortunate to have been able to breastfeed my children, something I’ve thoroughly enjoyed but I’ve found it can be quite an emotive subject, something I’ve previously written about and you can read that article here: The Emotive Subject Of Breastfeeding.
For those that aren’t fortunate to breastfeed and there are many reasons for this and ones I’m certainly not qualified to comment upon, there is the option of using a breast pump and that’s where Medela comes in.
I won’t recite all of the fabulous products that Medela have to help, aid and assist with your breastfeeding experience, I’ll simply direct you to their website where you can see for yourselves and we’ve tried a range of them over the years. The biggest “life saver” for me with my son Finlay was their Contact Nipple Shields and again, from personal experience, I can recommend their Breast Pads, Breast Shells and Milk Collection Shells too but do go take a look for yourself by clicking the link here: MEDELA.
For the purposes of this review we were sent the Medela Swing Maxi Double Pump, the link to which is here: SWING MAXI and I must confess to having used a manual pump many years ago that wasn’t a Medela and had very little success with it and that’s something that had put me off trying to express my breast milk.
As I say I’ve been fortunate to breastfeed my children with very little issues save for the odd cracked nipple but what about those times when perhaps you need to be away from your breastfed baby, perhaps work commitments, a night whereby you just have to sleep, through the pure exhaustion that having a newborn brings, so that your partner could perhaps help with a feed for example. Well that’s where I’ve found the Medela Swing Maxi to be excellent.
The Medela Swing Maxi is super easy to use, lightweight so therefore easily portable too, super efficient yet comfortable to use, an all round great product ideal to help with your breastfeeding journey and through using this I’m certainly not put off expressing my breast milk anymore xoxo.
